About this free page-numbering tool
Unnumbered pages are a small nightmare in long documents — "see page…" means nothing when nobody knows which page is which. This tool stamps a number on every page in the position you choose: bottom center for reports, top right for contracts, wherever fits your layout. You can start at any number, so a document that continues from a previous file can pick up at page 47, and an optional prefix turns 3 into "Page 3".
Numbers are drawn in a clean, standard font near the page edge, and the rest of your content is untouched. Everything runs locally in your browser, so the file is never uploaded. One honest note: the numbers sit close to the edge, so if your pages have content running right into the margins, pick the position with the most breathing room. Password-protected PDFs need to be unlocked first.
Frequently asked questions
Where exactly do the numbers appear?
In the margin area of the position you pick — bottom or top, aligned left, center or right. They use a small, neutral font so they stay readable without shouting.
Can I start numbering from a number other than 1?
Yes. Set any start number — useful when your PDF continues a document that began elsewhere. The numbers then run 47, 48, 49 and so on.
Will the numbers cover my content?
They sit near the page edge in the margin zone. On most documents that's empty space, but if your text runs into the very edge, choose the position with the clearest margin.
