How this works: each ZIP is opened in your browser's memory, images are pulled out in natural filename order (page2 before page10), and every image becomes one PDF page. Non-image files are listed and skipped — nothing is uploaded anywhere.
How to convert a ZIP file to PDF
- Drop your .zip file into the box above (or click to browse). You can add several ZIPs at once.
- Check the extracted image count, pick a page size (fit-to-image or A4) and an output mode.
- Click Convert to PDF and download your PDF — one per ZIP, or a single combined file.
Why convert ZIP to PDF?
ZIP archives are how the internet ships bundles of images — scanner apps save multi-page scans as a ZIP of JPGs, WhatsApp and Google Drive exports arrive as zips, exam portals ask for documents that candidates receive as zipped photo sets, and property or visa paperwork often lands as a folder of scans compressed into one file. A ZIP is convenient to send but awkward to read, print, or submit: portals want PDFs, printers want PDFs, and phones preview PDFs far better than archive contents.
This converter bridges that gap in the most direct way possible. Every image inside the ZIP becomes one page of the resulting PDF, in a sensible order. A 40-photo scan bundle becomes a 40-page PDF you can email, print, or upload to a portal that rejects ZIP files. Because the whole pipeline — unzipping, decoding, page layout — runs locally with open-source libraries in your browser, there is no queue, no daily limit, and no "Pro plan required for batch conversion" paywall of the kind competitors put on exactly this workflow.
What happens inside your ZIP
Image detection. JPG, JPEG, PNG, WebP, GIF and BMP files are treated as pages. Anything else — Word docs, spreadsheets, text files, nested archives — is listed in the report and skipped, so you always know what made it into the PDF and what didn't. Ordering. Images are sorted with a natural filename sort, which means page2.jpg correctly lands before page10.jpg (a naive alphabetical sort would scramble that). Files inside subfolders are included and sorted by their full path, so a scanner's doc/page-01.png layout keeps its structure. Formats. JPG and PNG are embedded directly into the PDF at full quality — no recompression, no quality loss. WebP, GIF and BMP are decoded and embedded as PNG (an animated GIF contributes its first frame only). Honest limits: password-protected ZIPs can't be opened in the browser — remove the password first. TIFF and camera RAW files aren't supported. Very large runs (over ~500 images) may slow older phones, so split them if needed.
Page size options, explained
Fit to image (default) makes each PDF page exactly the image's own dimensions, so scans keep their full resolution and nothing is cropped or stretched — best for archiving documents and reading on screen. A4 portrait and A4 landscape fit each image onto a standard A4 sheet with its aspect ratio preserved and centered margins — best when the PDF will be printed or submitted to offices and portals that expect A4. Need the PDF smaller afterwards? Run it through our image compressor before zipping, or merge the result with other documents using Merge PDF.
Frequently asked questions
How do I convert a ZIP file to PDF?
Drop the .zip into the box above, check the extracted image count, pick a page size and output mode, then click Convert to PDF. Each image becomes one page in filename order, and the download starts immediately — no account, no upload.
Can I convert multiple ZIP files to PDF at once?
Yes — add as many ZIPs as you like in one go. Choose "One PDF per ZIP" to get a separate PDF for each archive, or "Single combined PDF" to merge all images from all ZIPs into one document. Both are free and without daily caps.
Will the PDF pages be in the right order?
Images are ordered with a natural filename sort, so page2 comes before page10. If your filenames are numbered sensibly (scan-01, scan-02 …), the PDF follows your numbering exactly. Subfolder contents are included, sorted by full path.
Is my ZIP uploaded to a server?
No. The archive is opened in your browser's memory using a client-side ZIP library and never leaves your device. That's deliberate — ZIPs often hold ID scans, exam forms and medical papers that shouldn't travel to a stranger's server.
What if my ZIP is password protected, or has non-image files?
Password-protected ZIPs can't be opened in the browser — remove the password first, then convert. Non-image files (documents, nested zips) are skipped and listed in the conversion report, so nothing disappears silently.
